Pinkalicious

The story Pinkalicious as told by Abby.

Memorial Day Weekend

What a whirl wind of a weekend. Friday night we took the kids to go hang out with their buddy Amelia. Saturday we pretty much hung out at home resting to prepare for the fun that was to be had Sunday & Monday. Sunday we headed out to Brentwood for a sleep over. Abby & Logan got to spend the night with their friends Ella & Kristopher, Marie & Olivier and Amelia. Sunday while the Daddys' all went to see Iron Man, us Mommys' to the kids to the park. When the Daddys' returned it was time for is Mommys' to go out and party! When we got back all the kids were asleep. Monday the Mommy's took the big kids ( Ella, Kristpher & Abby) on a walk to a fruit farm, and to the park ( the daddy's took the little ones - Amelia and Logan - for a car ride in hopes they would nap.). By the time we returned with the big kids they were popped, so we fed them lunch and They all took about 2 hour naps. YEAH! We finally headed home around 3 Monday. Logan was so spent that he feel asleep pretty much the minute the car started.

Dunk...

Yesterday morning was swim lessons for Abby. Before we left the house I asked her what she was going to do in her swim lessons and she said. "Dunk my head." Then she went on to say "Daddy will be so proud!" I told her I would be proud too, but she could of cared less. As you can see in the video she accomplished that task. She also earned 2 more tokens towards the "preschool ribbon". All she needs now to move onto the next level , intermediate preschool, is to do 1+ "bobs". Not bad for only 3 weeks in swim lessons.

Future Rock Star

Abby got an early birthday present from Uncle Chris. She has been "eyeing" this guitar for sometime now. Every time we would head into Target and get near the toy section she wanted to stop to play with it. She has no clue who Hannah Montana is, but thinks the guitar is pretty cool. I may just have a future rock star in the making.

One Year Well Baby

Today was Logan's 1 year well visit. Our Doctor was very impressed with his progress, and amazed by his weight gain. He is now weighing 20lbs 12oz up, a full 2lbs gain since March 21th, and is 29 1/2 inches tall. When he feels like it, he can say bye-bye (dye-dye), bubble (if i could figure out how to translate it to letters I would), hi, ball(ba), and dada. Logan is very proficient with uh-oh. I would have to say that is his favorite word.

Logan was also very excited about being able to sit in his car seat forward facing, although that will be very short lived. According to our pediatrician, even though the law has not change, the American Academy of Pediatrics & Nation Highway Transportation are now strongly recommending that children stay rear facing until they are 2. Apparently in Sweden kids stay rear facing until they are 4. That sounds so crazy to me, but with with many things we are behind the times so it isn't all that surprising.

( PS Thank you Mike, Junko & Takuma for Lightening. I really like him, however I would enjoy him much better if my big sister would let me play with my own toy :) One day I will be big enough to get her off of it.)

Sleep Over

Last night was Abby's first real sleep over at Grandma's house. We have all slept over there several times, but this times she got to stay all by herself. She couldn't wait for me to leave. When Logan and I left yesterday afternoon she said bye and ran off in the other direction, back into Grandma's house. We called later that night to say goodnight ( actually I called a few times to see how she was doing) and she was too busy playing with Uncle Chris to talk to me or Daddy. This morning I called to check in on her again, find out when she was coming home, and talk to her, but again she was too busy. Grandma finally got her to talk on the phone, so I asked if she was coming back home tonight to see Mommy, Daddy & Logan. She told me " No! I stay again with Grandma!" Can't you just feel the love...

Day with Grandma & Papa

Today, since Logan's well baby was cancelled ( his Dr. was sick and going to see a Dr.) we decided to go over to Grandma & Papa's for part of the day. First we went out to lunch. I asked Abby where she wanted to go and she first said "furuckers" ( translated - Fudrucker's). Since there are none near their house, I asked her to pick some where else. She said "In & Shut" (translated In & Out) So off we all went to "In & Shut". After lunch we went to go run some errands. Since Grandma never goes in to Target unless I am over there we went. Abby found the Fancy Nancy collection that they just got in, and fell in love. We ended up leaving target with Fancy Nancy Ballet slippers & leg warmers - courtesy of Grandma. (for those of you that have never read the books they are great). When we finally arrived Abby got put her Fancy Nacy attire, and began to have a "fancy nancy party". After dinner since it was still somewhere around 80 outside the kids played in the water. We even made our own waterslide.

Last nigth, as usual - well at least since the time change and the sun is up later - I went for a walk. When I got back Abby was watching her "movies" from the ballet class she is in. Jason asked her to tell me what she said while I was gone. She said "i want to be a ballet when I grow up"

Niles Canyon Railway

Today we decided to take the kids on an adventure to the Niles Canyon Railway in Fremont. We were pretty much the youngest ones on the train as there was a whole tour bus from the San Mateo chapter of AARP! (thought AARP -American Association of Retired People- was only a magazine, had no clue they had chapters & outtings)Both kids had a lot of fun. They especially liked the Puppies in Training that rode in the same car as us.

Swim Lessons

Today Abby had her first real swim lesson. Prior to today she had only done the "Daddy & Me" lessons at the pool across the street from our house the last 2 summers.I was some what worried about how she would do since she hasn't been in a pool since last summer, but she had a blast.
