Preschool Cut Day

Today instead of taking Abby to preschool, I( & Grandma & Papa) decided to brave the rebuilt California Academy of Science. ( does it really count as cutting school when the trip is educational??)I must have been insane! The new facility has only been open about 2 months and it was the free day. Here is a shot looing back at the new building from the line. By the time I took the picture a good few hundred people had been let into the building. When we got to the doors the count was just under 2,000 people.

There was lots of great stuff to see, too bad we could hardly get close enough to see the bulk of the exhibits. Abby really wanted to see the penguins, which she was able too. I also wanted them to see all the fish, but the Aquarium looked like a a sardine can. Below are a few shots of some of the animals we did see....

The only thing that wasn't jam packed was the toddler adventure area. It was great to be able to let Logan down to roam for a while and burn off some energy.

After about 2 hours we decided to leave the chaos and head to the recently redone Children's Playground in Golden Gate park for a picnic lunch and some playtime. On our way home we drove by the Buffalo's.
